When I was in high school, I never thought I’d get a boyfriend. I dreamed of falling in love one day, but I couldn’t see my classmates as the Prince Charming figures to do it. I was interested in the idea of love, but I wanted something more than what my contemporaries offered. I thought, maybe I’ll live my life alone, and it won’t be so bad.

College changed that idea. It turns out that I was looking in the wrong places. As an undergraduate, I was constantly swept off my feet. Only, it wasn’t college guys. The men that I found attractive were invariably professors. (I had one particular English class where Prof AMS’s discussions of Byron made me shiver.)

So yeah, I’ve got a thing for professors. But that was just the tip of the ice berg. In my year or so as a corporate professional, I’ve found that professors are a subset of what I like, mostly because they possess the quality I seek most in a partner: maturity.

That’s not the only quality I seek, of course, because there are other things that can win this gal’s heart–good manners, impeccable hygiene, generosity, and being a gentleman.

And because every action has an equal and measurable reward, I offer myself–beautiful inside, conventionally attractive outside, generous to a fault with my friends, passionate, caring, a gym rat who secretly loves junk food, a joker with a deadpan poker face, a lover of animals and humans, a dancer to secret songs of the universe.
